WEB APPLICATION ENGINEER

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
•Designing, refactoring, and improving the functionality of our application
•Writing high quality client-side and object-oriented server-side code
•Working closely with team members to make good trade-offs and deliver features that meet requirements
WHAT WE’D LIKE FOR YOU TO BRING TO THE TABLE:
•B.S. degree in computer science or a related field; understand the “why”, not just the “what”
•Experience with PHP (or similar, Perl, Ruby, Python, Java etc)
•Experience with MySQL (or similar, e.g. PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, SQLite, etc.)
•Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming (OOP) fundamentals and design patterns
•Excellent communication and collaboration skills
•Proven ability to work well in a team environment
•Fluent in JavaScript (preferably JQuery)
•LAMP Experience
•Experience with Event Driven programming in JavaScript
•5+ years experience developing rich web applications
•Enjoys pair programming
•Understands inner-workings of rich dynamic web applications
•Knowledge in and excited about different types of testing
•Takes ownership for vision and follow-through for improvements and initiatives
•Experience with optimizing the front-end of a framework to improve page load times (using tools such as Y-Slow and Firebug)
