This full time, on-site, salaried position is located in New York City paying $90,000-$120,000. No telecommuting allowed. US Citizens or Green Card holders only please. Local candidates strongly preferred.

My New York City client is a media company that will focus on delivery of the conversation versus the profile. They call this Social 2.0. The next generation where users actually talk to each other in real-time or as close to real-time as possible changing how people communicate. Their systems are designed to replace chat, social apps, SMS and MMS through full mobile integration and web-infusion. The company is privately funded and is in the process of securing secondary funding which delivers 3 years of solvency.

Responsibilities:
=> Oversee the planning, design/architecture, development, testing and integration of applications. Leverage your hands-on experience in client/server architecture, development and team leadership to deliver high quality software on time and within budget.
=> Prepare project plans & estimates, gather functional requirements, and schedule/allocate resources involving the utilization of resources from other teams.
=> Define optimal architecture/designs, conduct code & design reviews, research & adopt new technologies, and provide technical direction for the team.
=> Facilitate the use and improvement of software development lifecycle methodologies and best practices, while instilling a culture for structured processing within the team environment.
=> Coordinate and conduct necessary product release activities.
=> Responsible for issue logging, tracking, analysis, reporting and management.

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of commercial software development experience in ColdFusion and JAVA.
• 3+ years in enterprise-level design/architecture essential.
• 3+ years in a software team leadership role essential.
• Ability to design relational database models in a SQL Server environment essential.
• Structured methodology experience essential; Scrum development methodology preferred.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve problem independently and creatively solve complex problems.
• Experience mentoring day-to-day activities of mid-level to senior developers is essential.
• ColdFusion, SQL, Microsoft Server, SMTP, DNS, CGI, Java, Perl, DOM, Flash, Mobile development, Windows Shell integration, PHP, ASP, VB.
• Bachelor degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
