Front End Web Developer and Social Media Samurai

Roblox is a virtual world and building game for kids. Our game is built on a 3D physics engine so everything moves. Users make games in our dynamic environment and invite other kids to play in the world that they have created. People have described us as “building blocks meet Second Life”, except that we’re l33t and way cooler than both of those things. Want proof? Check us out on You Tube or our website- www.roblox.com
ROBLOX is a downloadable game, but the website is half the play – it’s a game in itself. Our users spend almost half their time there – making clothes, trading ROBUX (our virtual currency) for tickets (our other virtual currency), making user ads, and chatting on our forums. We’re looking for an engineer who is smart and efficient, and who wants to take one of the top kids’ websites up to the next level of interactivity.
Who you are
- Experienced with HTML/DHTML/XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, Ajax
- Passionate about games, toys, and consumer products
- A college graduate with a degree in CS or equivalent education and experience
- Knowledgeable with Social Media/Applications (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
- Experienced (3+ years) with web application stack (.NET/LAMP/ Java/Ruby), and open to working mostly in .NET (it’s what our site and MySpace are built on)
- Fun and creative but totally serious when it comes to coding

- We are a startup company in Redwood City – and we have done this before
- We are funded by a leading venture capital firm and professional angel investors
- Our environment is dynamic – we release a new build every two weeks
- We are passionate about quality in everything we do
What you’ll do
- Build out our social networking, game discovery, and virtual marketplace features
- Create an awesome ROBLOX application for your favorite social networking site
- Lead the development of significant portions of our website
- Learn everything
- Pwn n00bs
